These windows were in the main room that faced the ocean. They were the best part of the whole house! Can't beat the view!

Hermit Crab Happy
There really wasn't a whole lot of good shopping to do in Gulf Shores...probably our only complaint...or maybe there was we just didn't find it. I asked Dustin if we could take Lo to pick out a hermit crab to take home. He didn't even argue or try to change my mind and just said yes...shocking as our house is already full of animals...but who doesn't have room for a little hermit crab? Come to find out hermit crabs THRIVE best when they have a friend...so you know we got two! We are still working on names for them. Lola loves them dearly though and wants them out all the time.

Rides, Rides, Rides
My mom watched Belle one night so my dad, Dustin, Lo and I could go ride go carts. They ended up having a childrens area and bumper boats. I was surprised to find out that they actually let little ones ride on the go carts as long as they were with an adult. Lola loved the both and wanted to go "faster" each time. She kept telling me when we were on the go carts to "Get that daddy"...and that grandpa was going to catch us and to go faster!

Food, of course
We ate dinner out everynight except for one...we wanted a break so we grilled filets and bought shrimp at a seafood market. Fun, but also more work than what we anticipated. The night we stayed in we ate breakfast out on the beach. I could really get used to having my breakfast while watching the waves everyday. Another one of our favorite places was Lamberts www.throwedrolls.com Lola LOVES rolls and she LOVES butter. At this restaurant they literally throw the rolls to you from across the room if you hold your hands up. So much fun...she was in heaven over the huge baskets of butter that they had on the table. I had to take it away after 3 helpings or else I think she really wouldve put a dent in all that butter. Like an old lady does...she wrapped her roll up and put it in her purse to take home.

The Little Zoo That Could
One morning we woke up and it was a little cloudy out so we decided to visit the Gulf Shores Zoo. It was featured on animal planets show and called "The Little Zoo That Could" It houses animals like lions, goats, gators, deer, panthers, black bears, tigers and reptiles that owners have neglected. It has been through so many hurricanes hence giving it the title the little zoo that could. Very small, but very close up...we were a little intimidated at times by just how close we were to the animals. They had a "petting" show and of course Lola wanted to touch every yucky thing they had in it. Later that morning she told me her favorite part was touching the ALLIGATOR! Oh, and you could feed every animal that was in the zoo...lots of fun...

Lo was beyond excited when we finally got to our beach house the next day. She walked in the house and was ooohing and ahhing...the pictures are of dinner out later the first night. She tried fried crab claws. Her first experience with seafood and LOVED them. I was a little nervous because of seafood allergy, but she did fine. After she had eaten about 15 of them she said out loud that her stomach hurt. I think everyone at the table about blacked out. She was fine though

Car ride fun
Lola and Belle both did awesome on the 13 hour ride to Gulf Shores! Dustin and I held our breath the whole way waiting for a melt down and it never happened. We left at 530am or so and arrived in Decatur, AL around 3pm for our overnight stop. I had wrapped presents for Lo to open in the car which really helped...

Lots of catching up
I have several posts to type up...just NO time! Lola went a few weeks ago with her Grampy to the gourd/pumpkin stand by our house. We love it there...and can you believe they still use the honor system? Also, Nana came over for craft time a lunch over the weekend. Lola had a lot of fun and cant wait to play again!
