I believe in Miracles

After almost a week of nighttime blues we finally found relief. Gripe water. We are hoping it's the answer to her late night crying fits. Also, the swaddler that I forgot I had seems to be doing the trick. Woo hoo.

BIG day

Happy Girl

Thanks cousin Madalyn for my polka dot suit.

SMILING...really smiling...not just gas pains..at her Gram for the first time. I was sad at first because it wasn't at me, but then I got over it. We are obsessed with trying to make her smile now. We love it!!!

You never know

After crying for two straight hours...I put her down and she was happy. Who would've thought just when I needed a break from her, she needed a break from me.

This is pretty much how Bitsy and I both felt after we realized all we had to do was put her down for a little bit.

I wanna rock and roll ALL NIGHT...and sleep all day long

OH no oh no...almost ready to start crying...

OH mama...that warm towel feels soooo good.

Lola Update:::
Lola is still eating like a little piggy. We love it though. Her little legs are filling out and we had to switch to the second size of newborn diapers. It's so amazing how they grow so quickly. We must be doing something right. Today we went to church. She slept the entire time. Everyone said how good she was. I just smiled and said "yes, she is a good baby" Little do they know being up all night long wears a girl out. No wonder she slept. I was so tired last night that I tried to put her pacifier in her eye. No joke. Luckily her eye was closed. =)

Big Girl Clothes

Lola has officially grown out of her newborn clothes. They are tight in the toes and neck. So we've moved on to some of our 0-3 month clothing. Thanks cousin Brad and Karie for my COZY old navy outfit!! We love it. (side note:: I did try to fix her head a million times, but that's how she wants to sleep. AND NO she doesn't spend ALL of her time in her bouncy seat)

Weekend Fun

Oh no! Not the bear suit.

Sunshine does a baby good...
We went to church today. Lola was really good. It was even time for her feeding and she still didn't make a peep hardly. Probably because she was up all night.

Doctor Day

Today was Lola's one week check up. Of course, we walked in with a list of questions a mile long. The doctor basically told Lola that her mom and dad were silly and needed to relax a little. The good news is...WE ARE NOT FEEDING HER TOO MUCH. We were concerned because several people had asked if we were, but she never spits up when she eats so we usually pack it in until she is full. More good news..she is up almost a pound from her weight when she left the hospital. Our little piglet... AND she is healthy as can be. ::::sighs:::: so good to hear... Anyway...Here are some pictures from today.

One Week Old

Lola is one week old today. The week has gone very fast and very slow at times.

Top 5 things I loved about this week:::
1. Seeing her for the first time (yucky and all)
2. Watching our family and friends see her for the first time.
3. Figuring out that the love for your child really is like nothing you've ever known.
4. Bouncy seats and moses baskets work miracles.
5. Getting a nice big burp out of Lola will make mommy and daddy just as happy as it does baby.

Labor and Delivery

Soooo....Tuesday, January 9 I was feeling frisky so I decided to go to Wal-Mart for last minute "shopping". Fully intending not to go into labor, I got one last round of oreo's. After Wal-Mart we stopped at Subway where I got into a fight with my mom about who was paying for lunch. I told her that if Subway was my last meal before labor I was going to be mad because it is too healthy. (even with the extra mayo and extra meat I ordered). I went home and took a two hour nap. When I woke up I had a hideous contraction. Not thinking much I vacuumed and mopped the floors. By 430 my contractions were definitely coming and were different than the contractions I had been having. I called my friend Brittany to come over to help me time the contractions. My mom showed up shortly after. By 730 or so they were regular and five minutes apart. My doctor said to go to the hospital. I got to the hospital and was wheeled up to Labor and Delivery. The nurse checked me and I was only at 2 centimeters and they were thinking about sending me home. They decided to monitor me for two hours. At the two hour mark I was really hurting and was at 4 centimeters so they said I could stay. After a lovely cocktail through my IV I was feeling pretty good, but not great. I got really sick to my stomach and ended up actually getting sick. SO I kicked everyone out besides my mom and Dustin. I held my mom's hand through each contraction. FINALLY, I got my epidural at around 230 when I was 6 centimeters. Talk about FREAKING AMAZING!!! I went from saying really bad words (yes, in front of my mother) to picking dog hair off of Dustin's shirt. Anyhow, at around 430 am I started to push. Dustin was an awesome coach. Except for when he got dizzy and had to sit down. They made me stop pushing so they could get him orange juice. Sissy. When I was pushing I was making progress, but it was slow. In the end, I got really sick and started throwing up. While I was throwing up the pressure pushed her right out. She was born at 530 am on January 10, 2007. 7 pounds 1 ounce. 19.5 inches long. Perfect in every way.
